Stone Island is a brand known for its staunch dedication to; innovative fabric development, dyeing processes and technical construction throughout their collection. This being said they have really surpassed themselves with their new capsule collection entitled ‘Polypropylene Denim’.
As part of their already impressive offering for F/W ’16-17 Stone Island decided to up the ante once again and introduce a completely new fabric into the mix. A process of inter-weaving naturally dyed indigo fabric into super lightweight polypropylene fibres results in a beautifully unique fabric with a rich denim blue hue that remains light and functional. Each garment is then meticulously hand processed with a combination of washing and sanding techniques in order to achieve a coarse, used finish. Combine this with the considered elaborate, almost articulated construction of each piece the collection as a whole gives off a distinctively textured, multi-dimensional look to the garments.
Of course Stone Island couldn’t leave it there and had to further augment these already stellar pieces utilizing Primaloft® linings within the outerwear pieces of the collection, so you can wear each piece with confidence that this addition to the jacket will keep you sufficiently protected from the elements.
We hope this isn’t the last we see of this fabric from Stone Island however if it is the collection is available in limited numbers from select Stone Island retailers - act fast and grab what is sure to be an amazing piece of outerwear to invest in, as well as a future grail.
